Prospect and Oak Grove are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. The Panthers will square off against the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Prospect is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.

On Wednesday, Prospect made easy work of Del Mar and carried off an 8-2 victory. That's two games straight that the Panthers have won by exactly six runs.

Kendall Tabora was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Tabora wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kaylin Perl, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Perl a new career-high. Isa Shields was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Oak Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Pioneer, falling 10-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The win made it two in a row for Prospect and bumps their season record up to 7-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Oak Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Oak Grove's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Prospect hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .339. It's a different story for Oak Grove, though, as they've only averaged .099. Will they be able to contain Prospect's hitters?

Prospect took their win against Oak Grove in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 20-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
