Recap: SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars vs. St. Pauls Bulldogs

They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 73-72 to the Bulldogs. SouthWest Edgecombe has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kd Collins, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds. Mackenzie Moore was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.

St. Pauls got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Zhariana Shipman out in front who scored 19 points along with three steals. Shipman is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Zakoreya Davis, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds.

SouthWest Edgecombe's loss dropped their record down to 18-8. As for St. Pauls, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.
