Baseball Recap: Benjamin Franklin Victorious

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Benjamin Franklin ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the San Tan Foothills Sabercats 6-5. The win continues a trend for the Chargers in their matchups with the Sabercats: they've now won five in a row.

Cruz Hansen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over 5.2 innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jett Garman, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. Drake Gray was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Benjamin Franklin picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 9-5. As for San Tan Foothills, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15-1 record this season.
