Soccer Game Preview: Clear Springs vs. Atascocita

The Clear Springs Chargers are taking a road trip to challenge the Atascocita Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Clear Springs comes in on three and Atascocita on six.

Clear Springs' defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed two weeks ago. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over Clear Creek. Given the Chargers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 116th, while the Wildcats are ranked 355th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Clear Springs' one-goal win came courtesy of Laken Carr, which was the first she's scored this season.

Kingwood Park typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Atascocita proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 4-2.

Atascocita's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 40 goals over those six matchups. As for Clear Springs, their win bumped their record up to 15-6-2.

Clear Springs couldn't quite get it done against Atascocita in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 as they fell 4-2. Can Clear Springs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
