Volleyball Recap: Tough Loss for Basic

Basic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Green Valley Gators, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 1st.

The final set scores came out to 25-6, 25-5, 25-9.

Green Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sela Carr out in front who had seven digs, six kills, five aces, and a solo block. Lorelei Paul was another key player, getting 13 assists, four digs, and three aces.

Basic has now lost eight of their last nine games at home. That leaves them at a 2-17 record this season. As for Green Valley, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-9.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Basic is set to challenge their familiar foe Del Sol at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Green Valley will square off against their in-conference opponent Sports Leadership & Management at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
