Preview: Boyd Yellowjackets vs. Callisburg Wildcats
The Boyd Yellowjackets will head out on the road to challenge the Callisburg Wildcats at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Boyd is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
Boyd suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were beaten by Paradise 78-30. Boyd was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-15.
Meanwhile, Callisburg's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Friday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Ponder, falling 91-18. While losing is never fun, Callisburg can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1223rd, while Ponder is ranked 378th).
Boyd has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Callisburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-17.
Boyd beat Callisburg 47-37 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Boyd since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
