Basketball Game Preview: Hanna Golden Eagles vs. La Feria Lions

The Hanna Golden Eagles will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the La Feria Lions at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Hanna was able to grind out a solid win over Economedes, taking the game 58-48. Given the Golden Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 407th, while the Jaguars are ranked 867th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for La Feria, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They secured a 52-46 W over La Joya last Tuesday.

La Feria pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points per game. As for Hanna, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

Hanna and La Feria were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup two weeks ago, but Hanna came up empty-handed after a 47-46 loss. Can Hanna avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
