Softball Recap: Denair Has No Trouble Against Elliot Christian

With a playoff win on the line, Denair rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 20-10 margin over the Elliot Christian Eagles. Considering the Coyotes have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kenzie Prine made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Prine was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Denair got a massive performance out of Braelyn Marroquin, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Marroquin has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last nine times she's played. Havyn Boucher was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

Denair always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elliot Christian only posted an OBP of .444.

Denair is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Elliot Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Coming up, Denair will face off against Vacaville Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.69 runs per game on average), something the Coyotes will no doubt try to take advantage of. Elliot Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
