Softball Recap: Hagerstown Gets the Win

Hagerstown hadn't done well against Shenandoah recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Tigers never let the Raiders get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. Considering the Tigers have won seven games by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Rylan Young, who gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep Shenandoah off the board. Young has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Emma Jarrett was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Allison Stinson was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Hagerstown's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Shenandoah, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hagerstown will host Lapel at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Shenandoah, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tri at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Titans will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Raiders surely won't give up without a fight.
