Basketball Recap: Evans Beats Wekiva for Their Seventh Straight Victory

Evans entered their tilt with Wekiva on Tuesday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They walked away with a 65-58 victory over the Wekiva Mustangs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 43-42 back in January.

Evans had a senior duo take command as David Rushing went 9 for 15 en route to 19 points and eight boards and Arosco Dubois went 5 of 12 to rack up 15 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Dubois' evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Dewayne Dixon was another key player, going 5 for 6 on his way to 10 points.

Evans was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Evans pushed their record up to 19-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Wekiva, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-13.

Evans wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 57-46 victory against Winter Park on the 31st. As for Wekiva, they have also already played their next contest, a 59-50 win against Ridge Community on the 30th.
