Baseball Recap: Glasgow Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Glasgow dropped their record down to 12-6 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's eight-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Slater Wildcats by a score of 8-6. The Yellowjackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

As for Slater, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-6. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games.

For Slater's part, Tristen Klasing made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Klasing has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Tytan Wiseman and Maddox Tyler did most of the damage at the plate: Wiseman went 5-for-6 with two runs and one stolen base, while Tyler went 3-for-5 with three RBI and one stolen base. Those three hits gave Tyler a new career-high. Keiton Head also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glasgow will welcome Brunswick at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Slater, they will face off against Jamestown at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
