Basketball Recap: Rock Springs Wins Going Away Against South

Rock Springs lost to South back in January of 2022, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Rock Springs TIGERS took down the South Bison 72-57. The TIGERS pushed the score to 61-41 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bison cut but never quite recovered from.

Rock Springs found their leader in sophomore Boston James, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 16 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Eddy, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 12 points and six rebounds.

Rock Springs was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

South's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josiah Fernandez, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 12 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Dezmond Waters, who went 8 of 18 on his way to 16 points and eight rebounds.

Rock Springs now has a winning record of 3-2. As for South, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Rock Springs didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 69-59 loss against Sheridan on the 11th. As for South, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 71-49 defeat against Natrona County on the 11th.
