Volleyball Recap: Taft Takes a Loss

Taft had taken Chavez down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Wildcats lost 3-0 to the Titans. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Wildcats have suffered since September 11th.

While Taft was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Chavez's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-16, 25-22.

Rylee Owens paced Taft's offense, picking up five kills. Owens got some help from Karsynn Owens and her ten assists.

Taft has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season. As for Chavez, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-6.

Looking ahead, Taft will square off against Wasco at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Chavez, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on McFarland at 6:15 p.m. on October 7.
