Softball Recap: Hardaway Hawks vs. Jordan Red Jackets

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sumter County, Hardaway was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Jordan Red Jackets as the Hardaway Hawks made off with a 17-4 win. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by 11 runs or more this season.

Hardaway got a massive performance out of Jayden Hamby, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Shelby Huff, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Hardaway didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with nine strikeouts. That's the most strikeouts they've posted since back in August of 2023.

Hardaway pushed their record up to 7-5 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Jordan, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Hardaway will square off against Webster County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hardaway is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.9 runs per game this season. As for Jordan, they will face off against Columbus at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Columbus will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Jordan surely won't give up without a fight.
