Basketball Game Preview: Westover Christian Academy Bulldogs vs. Fuqua Falcons

The Westover Christian Academy Bulldogs will challenge the Fuqua Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Fuqua took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Westover Christian Academy, who comes in off a win.

Westover Christian Academy will head into Friday's game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 27-point drubbing they dealt Roanoke Valley Christian on Friday. Westover Christian Academy simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Roanoke Valley Christian 54-27. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Emily Evans, who almost dropped a triple-double on 25 points, 15 rebounds, and nine assists. Those nine assists gave her a new career-high. Paige Johnson was another key player, putting up 12 points and four steals.

Westover Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 31 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Fuqua was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 44-40 to Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
