Baseball Recap: D'evelyn Wins Going Away Against Conifer

D'Evelyn had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Conifer on Saturday. The Jaguars were the clear victors by a 14-5 margin over the Lobos. This was a revenge game for the Jaguars: when they faced off against the Lobos last Wednesday, they had to take a 8-6 defeat.

Marshall Pharris and Leo Vigil did most of the damage at the plate: Pharris went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Vigil went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three hits gave Pharris a new career-high. Jay Aurich was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

D'Evelyn was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .486. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

D'Evelyn has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Conifer, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-10.
