Basketball Game Preview: Union City Indians vs. Southern Wells Raiders

Union City is 8-1 against Southern Wells since November of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Indians are taking a road trip to challenge the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Union City is headed out to face Southern Wells after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. The Indians were the clear victors by a 48-25 margin over Union on Wednesday. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Rockets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Union City can attribute much of their success to Campbell Kerns, who went 7-for-8 en route to 17 points, and Ava Reichard, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine boards. Kerns is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last six games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Lindsey Evans, who posted seven points.

Meanwhile, Southern Wells humbled Cowan with a 71-35 victory.

Things could have been worse for Union City, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 56-41 loss to Southern Wells when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Can the Indians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
