New Plymouth came out on top against Melba on Wednesday thanks in part to Makiah Weideman's efforts. Weideman was excellent, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Thanks to that strong showing, she's now averaging 5.4 strikeouts per game.
