Softball Preview: Quitman Wolverines vs. Haughton Buccaneers
The Quitman Wolverines will be playing at home against the Haughton Buccaneers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Quitman will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
Last Thursday, Quitman sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over Oak Grove.
Quitman saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Karley Huckaby, who went 1-for-3 with a triple and a run. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Leach, who scored a run and stole a base.
Meanwhile, Haughton earned a 10-6 win over Many last Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Haughton.
Quitman has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season. As for Haughton, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 15-13.
