Softball Recap: Shrine Catholic Knights vs. Cabrini Monarchs
Shrine Catholic made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Cabrini, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Knights were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Monarchs on Tuesday. Considering the Knights have won three matchups by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Samantha Swaneck was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Madeleine Doud was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Natalie Lanfear was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
