Volleyball Recap: Manhattan Falls Short Against Ranked Mill Valley

Manhattan faced Mill Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Indians took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jaguars. The Indians haven't had much luck with the Jaguars recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

While Manhattan ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-17.

Bailey Busch paced Manhattan's offense, picking up five kills. Busch got some help from Keeli Tepe and her 14 assists.

Manhattan's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Mill Valley, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-3.

Manhattan has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Emporia on the 25th. As for Mill Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Tonganoxie on the 22nd.
