Baseball Recap: Loveland Has No Trouble Against Winton Woods

Loveland got themselves on the board against Winton Woods on Monday, but Winton Woods never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the Warriors. Considering the Tigers have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Rylan Litchfield made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Brady Stidham was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lincoln Pape, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Loveland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Winton Woods only posted a batting average of .000.

The victory made it two in a row for Loveland and bumps their season record up to 13-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Winton Woods, they are on a 26-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-18.

Looking ahead, Loveland will head out on the road to challenge Blanchester at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Winton Woods, they will welcome Lebanon at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lebanon will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Winton Woods surely won't give up without a fight.
