Football Recap: Strong Performance on D from Carson James and Bryson Hager Leads Granbury over Fossil Ridge + How To Watch

Granbury's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 27-14 victory over the Fossil Ridge Panthers. This was payback for the Pirates, who suffered a 31-16 loss the last time these two teams met.

Granbury didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Carson James and Bryson Hager. Hager got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Despite the loss, Fossil Ridge still got an impressive performance from Peyton Cundiff, who picked up 124 receiving yards and one touchdown.

The win got Granbury back to even at 2-2. As for Fossil Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Granbury and Fossil Ridge could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Pirates (ranked 520th) will meet Ryan (ranked 33rd) at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. Meanwhile, Fossil Ridge will challenge Aledo at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th with a big rank disadvantage (436 vs. 12).
