Football Recap: South Central Comes Up Short + How To Watch

South Central extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 3-4. They lost 39-14 to the D.H. Conley Vikings. The Falcons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

Jaylen Butts threw for 52 yards and one TD. Ashton Barrett was his top target, picking up 26 receiving yards. On the ground, Clevon Akande rushed for 51 yards.

As for D.H. Conley, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.3 points over those games.

Elijah Taft was his usual excellent self, rushing for 166 yards and four touchdowns. Those four rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.

South Central and D.H. Conley could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Falcons (ranked 180th) will meet Jacksonville (ranked 32nd) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, D.H. Conley will face off against New Bern at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (88 vs. 34).
