Baseball Recap: Madison Triumphs

Madison won the last time they faced Owen and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Patriots walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Warhorses. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

Caden Lounsbury was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Madison is 4-2 when he allows at most two walks, but 6-10 otherwise. Lounsbury was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Lounsbury wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Max Shelton, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Madison is 7-1 when Shelton posts two or more runs, but 3-11 otherwise. Another was Jaxon Dillingham, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Madison's record is now 10-12. As for Owen, their loss dropped their record down to 4-16.

Madison will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warhorses: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
