Malone won the last time they faced Poplar Springs, and Jackson Welch did his part to make sure it happened again. The Malone Tigers strolled past the Poplar Springs Atomics with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 71-52 thanks in part to Welch, who went 7 for 13 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played.

When it comes to explaining why Poplar Springs lost, don't look at Jamal Carnley. Despite the final result, he went 5 of 9 on his way to 15 points and seven boards. That's the most rebounds Carnley has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Hall, who went 5 for 12 en route to 13 points.

Malone is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Poplar Springs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-13.
