Volleyball Recap: Aquinas Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Aquinas extended their losing streak to eight on Tuesday, dropping them down to 3-19. They came up short against the Norfolk Catholic Knights, falling 3-0. The Monarchs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Knights from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Sydni Svoboda paced Aquinas' offense, picking up five kills. Svoboda got some help from Taylor Smith and her 13 assists.

As for Norfolk Catholic, they pushed their record up to 17-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 9th (when they won 3-0).

Leading Norfolk Catholic to victory were Ellie Barr and Reese Timmerman. Barr had 12 assists and four aces, while Timmerman had ten digs and one assist. Those 12 assists gave Barr a new career-high.

Aquinas wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Grand Island Central Catholic on the 9th. As for Norfolk Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Elkhorn Valley on the 9th.
