Recap: Seminole Ridge Hawks vs. Pahokee Blue Devils
The Seminole Ridge Hawks's four-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 39-38 victory over Pahokee. That's another feather in the cap for Seminole Ridge, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Seminole Ridge got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Calvin Warren out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Warren has scored at least 25% of Seminole Ridge's points. Chase Marcey was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 4 steals.
Despite the defeat, Pahokee saw an underclassman step up: Javian Jones scored 17 points. Jones scored a full 44.7% of Pahokee's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Marquavis McCloud, who scored 9 points.
Seminole Ridge's win bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Pahokee, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Hopefully Leonard focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Thursday. Pahokee won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Inlet Grove at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. Inlet Grove presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Pahokee in Florida (Inlet Grove is ranked 136th, while Pahokee is ranked 523rd).
