High school football rankings: Collins Hill finishes No. 1 in final Georgia MaxPreps Top 25

State Player of the Year Travis Hunter leads Eagles to first state title after 24-8 win over Milton in AAAAAAA finals.

The high school football season in Georgia came to a close over the weekend. Collins Hill was among the victors with a 24-8 win over Milton. That victory helped propel the Eagles to the No. 1 ranking in the final Georgia MaxPreps Top 25.

The Eagles saw quarterback Sam Horn throw for 243 yards and two touchdowns while five-star Georgia Player of the Year Travis Hunter showed why he's the Peach State's best with 10 receptions for 153 yards and a touchdown.

In addition to Hunter on defense, the Eagles were fueled by defensive end Asani Redwood with 10 tackles and 1.5 sacks, Roberto Bryant with 11 tackles and a sack, and Aaron Horton's 11 tackles and .5 sack.

Elsewhere, Buford won its third straight state title with a thrilling 21-20 victory as the Langston Hughes kicker missed a game-winning 35-yard field goal.
