Basketball Recap: Amite Comes Up Short

Amite was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 69-57 defeat to the Albany Hornets. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 301st, while the Hornets are ranked 104th).

Amite's loss dropped their record down to 9-16. As for Albany, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-12 record this season.

Amite didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-35 victory against Mamou on the 4th. Albany has also already played their next contest, a 53-51 win against St. Charles Catholic on the 3rd.
