Baseball Game Preview: Greenway Demons vs. Goldwater Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Greenway will face off against Goldwater. Greenway will head out to challenge Goldwater at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Greenway is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Things were looking good for Greenway after they put the first points on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Goldwater by a score of 10-9.

For Goldwater's part, Alvaro Naranjo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit. Naranjo has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base.

In other batting news, Braeden Evjen was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Goldwater is 2-1 when Evjen posts two or more runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Estevan Blanco also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Goldwater picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 4-5. As for Greenway, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
