Volleyball Recap: Wingate Starts Season with Win on the Road

Wingate had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top in a nail-biter against East New York Family Academy, sneaking past 2-1. That's more bragging rights for the Generals, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

East New York Family Academy's defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Wingate will square off against rival Thomas Jefferson Campus at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, East New York Family Academy is set to challenge their familiar foe Tilden at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
