League recap: East/School of the Arts/Dr. Thomas climbs in state rankings with win

East/School of the Arts/Dr. Thomas moved up to 169 from 222 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Section 5 City-Catholic. The Orientals climbed the ranks as a result of losing to Hilton 50-35.

Wilson Magnet/School Without Walls was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from third to first in the league. The Wildcats beat Edison Tech/Monroe 28-7 earlier in the week.

Marshall/Charlotte's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Jurists feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jason Howard has thrown for 361 yards this season, while Justice Flagler has 13 catches for 192 yards. Howard also leads the league in rushing with 415 yards.

East/School of the Arts/Dr. Thomas made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,071 from 7,446. The improvement was the result of 50-35 victory over the Orientals last week.
