Baseball Recap: Head-Royce's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

After flying high against Redwood Christian last Thursday, Head-Royce came back down to earth. The Jayhawks fell just short of the St. Joseph Notre Dame Pilots by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pilots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-2 back in April.

Head-Royce saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mateo Gonzalez, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Caleb Roth was another, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

With the loss, Head-Royce broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-6. As for St. Joseph Notre Dame, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season.

While Head-Royce had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
