Basketball Game Preview: Stratford Knights vs. Cabell Midland Knights

The Stratford Knights and the Cabell Midland Knights will round out the year against one another at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Stratford turned things around against Academic Magnet on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 69-47 margin over the Raptors.

Meanwhile, Cabell Midland's undefeated season came to an end after three games on Saturday. They fell to Chesapeake 59-55. The loss was the Knights' first of the season.

Despite the defeat, Cabell Midland saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Marshall Summers posted 22 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Summers has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Coleson Christus, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.

Having lost for the first time this season, Cabell Midland fell to 3-1. As for Stratford, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
