Baseball Recap: High Tech CV Has No Trouble Against Bonsall

High Tech CV never got on the board in their matchup on Monday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Bonsall on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Legionnaires.

Andre Skiles and Sural Yegin made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Skiles pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Yegin tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Skiles also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because High Tech CV is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-9 otherwise. At the plate, Skiles got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base, while Yegin went 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Yegin has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, Daniel Cardoso was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. He has become a key player for High Tech CV: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-8 otherwise. Ian Ramirez was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

High Tech CV was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

High Tech CV's record is now 6-9. As for Bonsall, they dropped their record down to 6-10 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

High Tech CV wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 11-2 defeat against Escondido Charter on the 5th. As for Bonsall, they will face off against Ocean View Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Legionnaires' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
