Baseball Recap: Wesson Cobras vs. Loyd Star Hornets
Wesson entered their game against Loyd Star on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Wesson Cobras fell just short of the Loyd Star Hornets by a score of 14-12. Cooper Neeley put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, scoring a run while going 4-for-6. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits.
In other batting news, Aiden Wallace stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
