Skyline Prep scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 98-89 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Downey Christian Patriots. The Bengals just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Downey Christian was led to victory by Maylon Marte and Mickael Heritana. Marte went 15-for-19 to rack up 38 points, while Heritana went 8-for-11 on his way to 23 points and three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Marte has scored at least a third of Downey Christian's points. Adrian Baah was another key player, going 6-for-9 en route to 14 points.

Skyline Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Downey Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 20-11 record this season.

Skyline Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Downey Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, an 83-68 victory against Varsity Opponent on the 22nd.
