Football Game Preview: Jefferson Cavaliers vs. Brandon Valley Lynx

Jefferson hasn't had much luck against Brandon Valley recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Cavaliers will head out to take on the Lynx at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Jefferson comes in on three and Brandon Valley on eight.

Jefferson had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 42-point drubbing they dealt Rapid City Central on Friday. The Cavaliers really took it to the Cobblers for the full four quarters, racking up a 52-10 victory. With the Cavaliers ahead 31-3 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Meanwhile, Brandon Valley faced Harrisburg in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Lynx were the clear victors by a 24-0 margin over the Tigers. Those 24 points were actually the fewest the Lynx have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Jefferson's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Brandon Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 8-0.

Jefferson couldn't quite finish off Brandon Valley in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 and fell 37-34. Can the Cavaliers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
