Basketball Recap: Stanton Mustangs vs. Humphrey-Lindsay Bulldogs
After flying high against Lutheran-Northeast last Monday, Stanton came back down to earth. The Stanton Mustangs took a 48-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Humphrey-Lindsay Bulldogs on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 47-36 back in January.

Stanton's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Skyler Siebrandt, who posted six points in addition to 11 boards and three blocks. Siebrandt is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted three or more in each of the last nine games she's played. Another player making a difference was Hayden Dixon, who scored five points along with five assists and three steals.

That makes it three consecutive games in which Korth has scored at least a third of Humphrey-Lindsay's points. Hallie Reichmuth was another key player, putting up five points and four steals.
Stanton's record is now 15-9. As for Humphrey-Lindsay, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-6.
Stanton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Humphrey-Lindsay, they will square off against Homer at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Homer will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something Humphrey-Lindsay surely won't give up without a fight.
