Softball Recap: Wayne Blue Devils vs. Ponca Indians

While Wayne put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Ponca. The Wayne Blue Devils blew past the Ponca Indians 10-0. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matches by six runs or more this season.

Mackenzie Nissen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted in her last four games. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, Nyla Bolles was incredible, going 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and a triple. What's more, she also racked up three hits, the mostshe's had in her last nine matchups. Kinnely McGuire was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Wayne always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ponca only posted an OBP of .294.

Wayne will play host again on Saturday to welcome Boone Central, where first pitch is scheduled at 1:30 p.m. Boone Central is coming into the match with three straight wins on the road, so Wayne will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum. As for Ponca, they will face off against Falls City at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Ponca is facing Falls City at the right time seeing as Falls City is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
