Basketball Recap: Hudson Falls Comes Up Short

Hudson Falls lost against Queensbury last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Hudson Falls Tigers came up short against the Queensbury Spartans, falling 53-30. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 444th, while the Spartans are ranked 147th).

Leading Queensbury to victory were Shea Canavan and Kayla Zehr. Canavan almost dropped a triple-double on 15 points, nine boards, and nine steals, while Zehr dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Canavan has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 35 times she's played. Meredith Clark was another key player, putting up eight points and eight boards.

Hudson Falls is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12. As for Queensbury, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-3.

Hudson Falls has already played their next game (against Schuylerville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Queensbury will venture away from home to square off against Scotia-Glenville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing isn't great for Scotia-Glenville: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Queensbury has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
