Third-ranked Oak Hill Academy captures fourth Bass Pro Tournament of Champions title

The Warriors knock off No. 11 Paul VI to win their fourth Bass Pro Tournament of Champions title in the last six seasons.

Third-ranked Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) used a balanced scoring attack to capture its fourth Bass Pro Shops Tournament of Champions title, knocking off No. 11 Paul VI (Fairfax, Va.) 68-57 Saturday at JQH Arena on the campus of Missouri State University.

The Warriors (26-1) remain perfect at the event with a 12-0 record, sweeping their previous three appearances in 2015, 2016 and 2018.

All  five starters scored in double figures for the winners, led by LSU pledge Cam Thomas who finished with 26 points and eight rebounds. Evan Johnson chipped in 13 points, Arkansas commit K.K. Robinson 12, Darius Maddox 11 points and Emmanuel Okpomo added 10 points.

Paul VI (13-4) had three scorers in double figures, led by Trevor Keels with 18 points, Knasir McDaniel added 13 points and Jeremy Roach contributed 12 points and nine rebounds.



The Warriors used a stifling defensive effort to take home the win, holding Paul VI to 22-of-62 from the field and 5-of-20 from 3-point range. Oak Hill was in control throughout, leading the final 24 minutes of action.

Both teams travel to the Spalding Hoophall Classic for big-time national showdowns on Monday as Oak Hill Academy faces off against Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas), while Paul VI takes on No. 14 Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.) with both games being streamed live on ESPNU.
