Baseball Recap: Normal University Beats Pekin for Their Fourth Straight Win

Normal University extended their winning streak to four on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 18-4 in the process. Everything went their way against the Pekin Dragons as they made off with a 12-1 win. The Pioneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

As for Pekin, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 15 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured 13 defeats in a row.

For Pekin's part, they got a good showing from Perry Miller, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave Miller a new career-low in walks (one).

At the plate, Mason Hanvey was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Coming up, Normal University will challenge Glenwood at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Pekin, they will face off against Canton at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
