Basketball Game Preview: Walla Walla Blue Devils vs. Kamiakin Braves

Walla Walla is 2-8 against Kamiakin since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Walla Walla Blue Devils will face off against the Kamiakin Braves at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Saturday, everything went Walla Walla's way against Wenatchee as Walla Walla made off with a 64-43 victory. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Panthers are ranked 336th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Kamiakin had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with a 56-46 win over the Falcons.

Kamiakin has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Walla Walla, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Walla Walla came up short against Kamiakin in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 60-51. Can Walla Walla avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
