Soccer Game Preview: Maiden vs. Hickory

The Maiden Blue Devils will head out on the road to square off against the Hickory Red Tornadoes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Maiden's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for 16 straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Maiden's offense. They lost 4-0 to Foard on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Hickory won against Foard on Tuesday with five goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Thursday. The Red Tornadoes blew past North Lincoln 5-2. The result was nothing new for Hickory, who have now won eight contests by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit North Lincoln with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from LOGAN MOUA (2), JAKE CURTIS, JOSH HERRING, and NATHAN 'NATE' PEREZ.

Hickory pushed their record up to 14-3-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Maiden, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-18.

Maiden came up short against Hickory in their previous meeting back in September, falling 2-0. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
