Baseball Recap: New Braunfels Comes Up Short

If New Braunfels was feeling good fresh off their 12-3 takedown of Alamo Heights last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Unicorns took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Boerne Greyhounds on Wednesday. The Unicorns were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Greyhounds apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

New Braunfels has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-12-1 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Boerne, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-10.

While New Braunfels had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
