Baseball Game Preview: Aliquippa Quips vs. Laurel Spartans

Aliquippa is 0-10 against Laurel since April of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Quips will square off against the Spartans at 4:15 p.m. Aliquippa has given up an average of 16.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Aliquippa is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 22nd straight game dating back to last season on Wednesday. They came up short against Northgate, falling 11-5.

Ellwood City hit Laurel with a five-run third inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Spartans lost 10-3 to the Wolverine. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tyler Shearer was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

Aliquippa's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Laurel, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
