Basketball Game Preview: Burroughs Bombers vs. MICDS Rams

Burroughs has gone 8-2 against MICDS recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Burroughs Bombers will head out to square off against the MICDS Rams at 5:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Burroughs is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with a 72-63 win over Pattonville on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bombers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Burroughs' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Breaunna Ward, who went 8 of 11 on her way to 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Moriyah Douglass, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine boards. Ward's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Lanton, who posted 12 points and five rebounds.

Burroughs smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, MICDS took their matchup on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 78-21 win over Metro.

Burroughs' victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for MICDS, they now have a winning record of 1-0.

Everything came up roses for Burroughs against MICDS in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 59-30 win. In that game, Burroughs amassed a halftime lead of 38-15, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
