Softball Preview: Kennedale Wildcats vs. Hillsboro Eagles
The Kennedale Wildcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Hillsboro Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Kennedale has given up an average of 9 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
The home team had come away the winner the last three times Kennedale and Ferris had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Kennedale came up short against Ferris on Tuesday, falling 22-5.
Meanwhile, Hillsboro entered their tilt with Venus on Tuesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 8-5.
Izzy Hernandez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
